Lake Powell has almost 2, miles of shoreline which rivals the total coastline of the Pacific Coast states. The dam was built to harness the Colorado River and to generate electricity. To give you another idea of how massive this lake is, it took years of Colorado River flow to fill Lake Powell.

Our stays are typically 10 or days duration in the fall, winter and spring seasons. This is a clean, quiet and well-maintained park. The park has two campgrounds, Cottonwood and Lakeview. The Lakeview campground is older and more rustic, catering to RV and tent camping, while the Cottonwood campground is newer and caters to RVs, only. We prefer to stay in the Cottonwood campground, but can not always get a reservation there.
Cost Cost varies between the Cottonwood and Lakeview campgrounds and by full or partial hookup rates. Weekly rates are available. Traffic through Riverside is often heavy, depending on time of day. Gates to the park are locked after hours — be sure to carry the current gate codes when returning late. The park also features picnic areas with shelters and barbecues, disc golf, mini golf, natural play area, Splash Pad water park, and fishing lakes. Activities include fishing, running, biking and disc golf.
Lakeview campground showers are coin-operated, requiring tokens purchased at the camp store.

A favorite summer retreat for desert dwellers, Upper Lake Mary’s surface acres lure anglers to its waters in the quest for such species as bass, perch and northern pike. Campgrounds in the area offer vacationers a place to get away and enjoy the lakeside ambiance.
Picnic tables, barbecue grills and fire rings are standard at each site, and pit toilets are available in the campground.

All gravel and DG but level sites. Plenty of room to park the toad next to the MH. No tables or barbecues at the sites. Rather barren and close together sites but a bargain being close to all the action. Would definitely stay here again. The lot that was originally booked was occupied. The next site offered was not big rig friendly. The 3site was big rig friendly. The site was not totally level, but close enough that there wasn’t any issues.
All the sites were gravel with full hookups. There was free WiFi provide, but the office didn’t provide the code and I just forgot to ask. Cell service was slow, but the town was packed with people. We had to pre-pay for our site more than 6 months ahead of time. There is a manager on site.
